The Blackwall Brigade are back - with two new locations to call home. There's the modern fire station with chrome fittings, an atrium and a garden, and a home - from - home in the Oliver Twist pub where they can hang out between shouts.
The pub is run by Elaine Reeve (Sharon Duce, last seen as implanted, liposuction Valerie in The Royle Family).
The regulars include Poison Pearce (Michael Garner), his pregnant wife Fiona, Recall, George, Sally, Hyper, Hi - Ho and Station Commander Coleman.
The new intake includes Jack - the - lad Adam (Sam Callis), who's likely to fan a few flames of desire as well as putting a few out. And Liz Crowther (last seen in Family Affairs) is Councillor Alison Hemmings.
The series opens with the usual crisis, when a car is jammed under a lorry and a tar burned is about to fall on it. And as if that's not enough, a woman trapped in the car goes into labour!
