PART 1


A Commander talks to the press outside the from of the station as the Watch sit in the mess. Geoff is in Nick's office, talking to the councillor as Nick stands in the corner of the room. Geoff explains what happened in the shout and has visions of what happened. He breaks down.


The next day, Pit Bull arrives to work to find a load of saddened faces and no - one will talk to him and explain what happened, they just pass him and go home.


Laura walks up to Recall's hospital bed and explains that his cab has arrived, but all he can think about is that John is somewhere in the hospital.


Sicknote has decided that he should ring Bayleaf and tell him what happened, although he keeps putting the phone down before dialling. Jean offers to ring Bayleaf, but Sicknote wants to. As he does and as Bayleaf answers, Sicknote can't explain what happened and breaks down. Jean takes the phone from Sicknote and explains to Bayleaf that John died.


Sandra is talked to by the councillor and Baxter. Sandra tells him that she doesn't want a Brigade funeral, she had been to one and she doesn't like the thought of all eyes being on her.


In the mess at the station, Maggie begins to cry and Billy approaches her. Maggie explains that Derek has proposed, but she can't marry him because she's still married to Albie. She then begins to talk about what happened to Hallam and upsets herself even more.


Geoff enters Nick's office after being called there. Nick explains that Hallam's locker needs emptying and asks Geoff whether he'd like to do it. He then asks Geoff if he wants to go with him to Sandra's to give her Hallam's things, but Geoff feels that he can't go.


In the mess, Billy comes to the conclusion that all bad things happen when Geoff is around and that he's a jinx. Geoff then enters and Billy goes quiet as Geoff asks Cling Film for a hand with something. The bells then go down and the Watch have a call to St. Hugh's hospital.


PART 2.


There is no sign of a fire at St. Hughs, so the Watch decide to enter the hospital to check the pay phones. Billy finds the number of the phone where the 999 calls were being made from, they all then approach the reception, which is right next to the phone and they ask a receptionist if she's seen anything. The receptionist however is really unhelpful and doesn't help them one bit.


Geoff walks his dog and passes Sandra's house and Nick notices him walk by. Nick had given Sandra, John's things, which she considers aren't much to show. Nick brings up the subject that John didn't seem himself at the start of his last shift. They later discuss the funeral, where Sandra reveals to Nick that she doesn't like it that Hallam died with Geoff.


At dinner, Recall reveals to Laura that he's going back to work that night, much to Laura's dislike.


Jack's doorbell rings and it's Linda. She asks if he's alright as she's heard what happened. Linda pleads Jack to talk to him, although he really doesn't want to and he thinks that he carries bad luck around with him.


Bayleaf arrives at the funeral directors to meet the Watch. They're all glad that he could make it and he's introduced to Jack.


The councillor talks to Sandra and can sense that something is wrong. Sandra is resenting that John spoke to the councillor about his problems, but not to her. She then brings up the subject of John's affair with Jenny.


PART 3.


Geoff enters Nick's office and informs him that he's going to try for a Sub's post. Nick asks if Geoff wants to leave for all the right reasons, he tells Geoff that he knows things haven't always been easy for him, but he doesn't think he should leave, especially when he'll be breaking the Watch up again. The bells go down and the Watch get called to a flat fire...


At the funeral, Sandra sits in a car, which passes certain stations where officers are standing outside as a mark of respect. She then arrives at the funeral, where officers and Watch members are there. The Watch, excluding Geoff and including Bayleaf, carrying the coffin into the chapel. Nick talks about John, about what he gave to the Brigade and his loyalty. He talks about John's previous injury and him carrying on after.
