PART 1
Carole stands at the window of her living room as Martin goes on
about Brigade budget cuts and her being in charge that day. He
tries to give her advice, but she doesn't really want to listen
to him.
Sicknote grabs the paper as it comes through his letterbox,
nearly pulling the paperboy's hand through. He walks into the
living room while Jean is doing keep fit to Mr. Motivator on
GMTV. He sits down and looks through the paper, looking for an
article concerning the production. He finds it and he and Jean
sit down to read it.
Nick leaves home for the Conference, saying goodbye to Costas and
Evgenia.
Blue Watch's new recruit - Chris Newman, arrives at Blackwall to
find Pit Bull. Pit Bull tells him that Billy's a poof and that
the Guv'nor likes to be called Zorba and not to let the others
tell him otherwise.
In the mess, Maggie reads the article on the production, but gets
a bit upset because of the negative stuff written on Derek.
Chrisenters and introduces himself to Billy, who takes him
through to the door to meet the others, where he reveals he's
from Perth in Australia.
During role - call, where Carole is in charge, Pit Bull passes
loudly and Carole has a go at him. After, Jack approaches Carole,
telling her not to let Pit Bull get to her.
Nick arrives at the conference in Tenby. Marianne, the guest who
is from a station in Holland is introduced to everyone. The
officers in charge then start to discuss modernising the brigade.
In the mess, Chris reveals to the watch that he's been in London
for 2 years. He'd been travelling and his money ran out in
London, so that's where he stayed. He joined the fire brigade as
his dad was in the brigade in Australia. The watch argue over
who's going to take Carole's food up and they make Chris do it.
As he's gone, they start to discuss nicknames that they could
give him.
Later in the mess, Chris' nickname nominations are read out. They
all decide to go with Maggie's choice - Skippy then they all
start to sing 'Skippy the Kangaroo' as Carole enters, telling
them to at least pretend that they're running a fire station.
PART 2.
Nick is still at the conference where a group of officers are
watching two appliances being driven. One is by Nick and the
other, Marianne. After they both get out, a officer comments on
Nick's driving compared to motorists in Greece where he went on
holiday. Nick dryly tells him that he isn't from Greece. Later
Marianne approaches him, commenting on what a nice place Cyprus
is and that she's always mistaken from being Scandinavian and
from other places other than Holland.
Out in the yard, the watch clean the equipment. Skip reveals to
Billy that he lives in a flat with a load of girls. Billy then
invites Skip out with him and Steph. The bells go down and the
watch get called to a shout at Chadwick Street.
On route to the shout, one appliance gets blocked and the pump
with Geoff in charge, gets to the shout before the pump ladder.
The pump crew all go in the lift and take equipment to the top of
the building as the pump ladder crew arrive, not seeing the pump,
they assume it hasn't arrived yet. Charlton arrives as backup and
the Grant informs George that the pump crew has arrived and that
they are parked around the corner.
Grant then goes up, where the whole of Blue Watch are as Carole
moans at Geoff. The BA crew are sent in the 'fire', which turns
out to be a BBQ just giving off a load of smoke as people
sunbathe on the roof. Later, Carole tells Geoff she wants to see
him in her office when they get back.
Two Tone arrives at Blackwall with the computers, but Pit Bull
refuses to sign for them. Two Tone asks Pit Bull what he should
do with them and he tells them to shove them up his arse, then he
tells him to put them in the watch room, before making a racist
commented about computer's being white man's magic to his sort.
At the Conference, new orange - yellow tunics are on display.
Nick is spoken to and volunteers that his watch will try them on
the trial. He is told that they will be with him within six
weeks. Later, Nick tries out a PC, which he finds difficult to
use. Marianne explains that they are basic to her and they have
them at her station. She reveals to Nick that she is there to set
up exchange trips.
Carole has a go at Geoff in her office, asking him if he has a
problem taking orders from a woman. The officer in charge is then
called the watch room over the tannoy and Mr. Spencer, the
computer bloke had arrived to set up the PCs. Although no - one
knew they were delivered.
PART 3.
Another lot of computers are delivered as the last one's were
nicked. This time they were stored in a locked store room. Two
Tone explains to Carole and Chapman that Pit Bull wouldn't sign
for them and that Pit Bull told him to shove them up his arse,
before his racist comment.
Jack lays on his bed in the dorm, Recall enters and asks him
whether he wants to join him for a drink in the pub. Pit Bull
enters and Carole does a while after, telling Pit Bull that D.O.
Chapman would like to see him upstairs.
Marianne and Nick walk along the beach in Tenby. They ask each
other what their plans are for that evening and Marianne suggests
that they go out for a drink. They walk back to Marianne's hotel,
which has the local brigade outside, the roof fell in and it's
flooded.
Chapman has a go at Pit Bull in the Station Officer's office. Pit
Bull denies his racist comment to Fire fighter Warren and also
denies the theft of the computers. Warren is next door in the
office with Geoff and they talk about Martin Webb where Warren
explains the truth about Martin, he wasn't injured on duty, he
was injured when he was drunk, which did his leg in. They walk
out, just as Carole leaves the Station Officer's office and she
tells Geoff to go home.
At the pub, Recall and Jack discuss Recall missing Laura and that
he wants her back. Recall then asks what's up with Jack. Jack
talks about his bad luck being a habit, he says there was a cock
- up with a procedure at his previous station and he got the
Guv'nor sacked and he had just heard that he commited suicide the
day before.
Billy, Steph and Skip go to a bar, where Billy notices Lauren -
one of his ex's. He walks in and approaches Lauren, who is now
calling herself something different. He tries talking to her, but
she won't listen and Billy ends up getting chucked out of the bar
as Skip asks what happened and Steph demands to know what that
girl was.
In Tenby, Nick and Marianne enter a pub. Marianne explains that
she's had a new hotel sorted out for her. They discuss Baxter and
Marianne flying home in the morning.
The episode closes with Martin asleep in the and Carole standing
at the window crying.
