PART 1


Nick makes a speech at the Chamber of Commerce meeting, he's supposed to be talking about fire safety, but brings up the events of the motorway accident from the episode before. He decides to name his speech 'Chariots of Fire'. Nick reveals all the events of the fire: the fourty vehicles involved and the twelve people who died, most of which were burned to death and twenty more people were injured. They only took about twelve minutes to die as due to the make up of the cars, they would have been consumed by fire.


Kate goes to a party at a rugby club with her friend Mary. Kate looks miserable and really doesn't want to be there. She's approached by Don. The party leaves the rugby club, then goes on at Don's house. She gets knocked slightly, then runs off to the bathroom, where Don follows her. He apologises for the bloke who knocked into her and asks her if she's ok. She clearly isn't and begins to cry. Don leads Kate through to his bedroom, where it is quieter. Kate lies on the bed and cries and Don tells her that he'll kick everyone out and she can have the room and he'll sleep on the couch, but Kate asks him to stay and he lays down with her. Kate reveals to him the events of the last shout Blue Watch attended, he kisses her and one thing leads to another...


Malcolm and Helen have an argument about her going to Brussels while eating a meal in a posh restaurant. Helen storms off to the ladies. Malcolm ends up following her, where he goes and knocks on the door, then enters and knocks and calls through cubicle doors.


Bayleaf goes out to look for his ex - mother - in - law to try to find out where his ex - wife has taken his daughter Melanie. He tries her house, but is told by a neighbour that she has gone out to bingo. Mrs. Frazer, Bayleaf's ex - mother - in - law, tells him that Melanie is in Spain, but she doesn't know where exactly.


PART 2

Kate wakes up and gets out of bed. She walks into the main room of the house, noticing all the mess that was left. She picks up her coat, puts it on, then leaves. Kate arrives home to find Mary asleep, but she wakes her and moans at her for leaving her with the man, whose name she didn't even know.


A hi - fi blows up in a house, causing a fish tank full of guppies to explode... The watch are called to the fire, which they quickly extinguish. The little girl, who's the owner of the fish, screams about them. Colin goes in and picks up the guppies, putting them in another tank, which is full of piranhas. Colin leads the girl and her mother through to see a tank full of blood where the piranahs had eaten the guppies. The girl goes mad and hits Colin.


After entering Nick's office, Hallam informs him that Bayleaf has rung in sick and Superscoop - a journalist, is in the station. Superscoop talks to Nick in his office, who assumes Nick blamed the car owners, at the Chamber of Commerce meeting, about the deaths of the motorists.


Kelly argues with Beattie about her kids running riot in her home, she's had enough how the noise and leave her home and goes to her mum's. After George finds out, he approaches Lil and Kelly in the street. Kelly tells George that she won't go home until Beattie and her kids had gone. George attempts to apologise, saying Beattie's only staying there temporarily, but still, he can't tell his own sister to leave when she had no - where else to go. Kelly gives George her wedding ring back, before walking off.


Recall and Laura are in the hospital with Jamie. The doctor talks to the two of them about a possible transplant for Jame.


PART 3.


Nick enters the station the next morning where the whole watch are grouped around the appliances, reading an article printed by Superscoop about Nick. Nick is livid, it was definitely not what he said and as he and Hallam enter his office, the phone rings. It's A.C.O. Bulstrode and he's not exactly happy about it either and screams at Nick down the phone.


Bayleaf is glad when it's finally admitted that his daughter was abducted, but the process of getting her back was going to be complicated.


The talk in the mess is of the possible closure of the station. Sicknote brings up the conversation of someone going to Union Rep. He's wants to position, by no - one else is for him.


Nick arrives at HQ where he gets a grilling from Bulstrode, he tells Nick that he had no right at all for what he said.


Sicknote reherses his Richard 3RD production, where he kisses Cynthia on - stage, even though it isn't in the script and Jean whitnesses it all!


Nick arrives outside a house of the widow of one of the casualties from the motorway blaze. Hw asks for a Mrs. Carol Martin, after a man answers the door. The man is not pleased to see him, but Nick begs to have just five minutes with her. Carol wants to know if Nick saw her husband die and he apologises to her for what was printed, telling her that the fire wasn't like what it said in the paper and that her husband wouldn't have suffered.


Colin takes Zoe to a chip van for dinner, although she wants to go to a restaurant but he can't afford it as he only had £2.50 until his next pay day. They sit eating their fish and chips on a bench and Colin talks about thinking it's only fair that he gives his mum half of his wages. Zoe asks him to move in with her and Colin promises that he'll tell his mum when he gets home. When Colin arrives home, he goes to tell his mum but is put off.


Kate informs Mary that she's two days late, but Mary tells her that she's not necessarily pregnant.


Next shift... the bells go down and the watch attend a blaze at a warehouse - Unit 2 at an industrial estate. Kate is asked to turn the alarm bells off by Nick, but is too pre - occupied at the thoughts of possibly being pregnant and cuts off the sprinkler system, causing a flash - over in the building, nearly hurting the BA crew inside. Outside Nick is livid and asks Kate if she turned the sprinkler system off, when she says she didn't, he goes to check and she had shut off the main valve.
